Have you ever..

Completed two layouts that were the same except for the patterned paper?
Hmmmmmm well thats what I have done this week.
The first layout was for the Amazing Race over at Chook Scraps using the Little Toot range from Kaiser (bit of sneek peek for you!)
I just felt that the colours weren't vibrant enough for the challenge.
The criteria was use a square photo, a frame, a quote and use the photo (on the forum) as inspiration.
I have also used a sketch from The Scrappiest
So this layout will now head to The Flourish and I think I will enter it into The Scrappiest also.

So I started the Amazing Race challenge again!
But I loved the sketch and the quote I had used on the first layout so decided to go with it and change the papers.
Grabbed some old, but vibrant, BG Marrakech papers and inspriation from Kerryn with everything being matted on black (thanks wink!)

Not sure which I prefer
Which one do you like better??

Thanks for popping in

Amazing Race Round 5

Saw us in South Africa.
I just loved this criteria for this round but as the week past I still had no layout.
I was soooo overthinking everything and just couldnt decide on what to do.
Thankfully I received a phone call from my SIL and she invited us to see Makayla - our premmie niece. Instantly I knew what I was doing and half constructed the layout before I left!
Introducing Baby Makayla

The criteria was cream flowers, metal, twigs/branches and paper rolling.
He is a close up of my fringed flowers which involved lots of rolling!

I used a sketch by Lydall Quinn over at The Colour Room................she has some beauties which I'll be putting to use very soon
We are onto Morocco now, so I had better get moving and not think, just do!

Thanks for stopping by

Pink Gelato

I knew the day would come when I received a Kaiser release that I really disliked!
That's why I thought long and hard before taking on the shop gig.
The Pink Gelato range sat on my dining table being shoved to one side for weeks, maybe if I didnt see it it would just go away........fat chance!!! LOL
Now, after all my procrastination and whinning............. I really like how these cards turned out!!!
In fact I think they are the nicest cards I have made with any of the releases so far.

Need to get a layout finished by tomorrow with the beautiful Velvet Ensemble range....... eeeeekk better get cracking!!

Cheers

My Mind Eye Challenge

Over at Savvy this month Kerryn has challenged the girls to use mostly MME products and to use a background technique also.

Originally I was going to use mesh and bleach to form my background, however the bleach turn this blue cardstock a purpley red kind of colour.....not what I was after at all!!

So I went with the lame paint flecks you can see.

I have used some old denim to make the flowers with T!m's tattered flowers die - my most used die I reckon!

I finished my mixed media layout and I am quite please with the results ; )

Will share when we have some decent weather to take a good picture.

Enjoy your day

Mixed Media

I have been blog hopping again and came across Finnabair's blog and have been sooooooooo inspired to have a go and just play!!!
I gathered some stuff and just stuck it down onto a tag.
Then I covered sections in gesso, gave it a blast with a heat gun and then went mad with about 6 different glimmermists.
Oh what fun and I made such a mess!!
Really........... I did!
Might try a more crisscross brush action in some places with the gesso next time for some more texture

and a couple of close ups for you

I added some glimmer glam to the pearls and the flowers

I'm going to create a layout now........................so wish me luck!
Oh and you must have a look at this awesome canvas. Check out the items she has used on it
AMAZING!!

Amazing Race

Round 4 of the Amazing Race saw us partying in Brazil!
The criteria:
Non neutral cardstock base
Masking
Glitter and/or bling
Larger than a 6x4 photo

I have used a shaped base as my mask on the pink cardstock and then handstitched to add some texture and definition. Also used chipboard alphas as a mask on the title. There is glitter on the butterflies, flowers and the white spots on the patterned paper are also glittery.

I thought for sure there would be feathers and sequins in the criteria, even had them out and ready!!! hehehe

Photo quality is poor....just love those night shots.....not!

PS. I forgot to add a link to my last Amazing Race entry.
The flower I made in the cluster was from a tutorial by the very talented Natasha.
Here is the link to the tutorial and dont forget to check out the rest of her blog AMAZING stuff!

'Women LO' using Kaisers 'Chapter One'

I just love this release from Kaiser so easy to work with.
My challenge for the CC is to create a Women only layout - no boys allowed.
Use the word women in the title.
Use a technique inspired by or scraplift another scrapper.
The lacing down the edge was inspired by Sim a fellow scrapper at Artistic.
